Choosing A Career

So many people make the mistake of choosing a career based on one thing. Money. Big mistake. Nothing is more dangerous than shutting down the dreams and passions you have as a child and seeing the world as one big dollar sign. It not only effects you emotionally it also effects you physically. I've seen many people develop headaches, ulcers and lose touch with taking care of themselves all because they thought any job that makes a lot of money is the one for them.

The main thing to focus on is passion. What makes your heart race? What brings out your curiosity? These signals are the ques you must take to find your career. If you like to cook you may think you want to be a chef. But don't stop there. You may want to own a restaurant or perhaps you have an idea for a new food product to take to market? The road of life is long and you shouldn't think small when it comes to your career.

I know when I was young I thought if I developed my talents someone would magically discover me and use my talents in a way that fulfilled my dreams. That didn't happen. People used my skills to suit their needs not mine. I learned that having a career is about ownership of that career. You must be the driving force behind achieving your goals. Once people see your vision they will either follow or get out of the way. Spend each day dreaming of your future self. Take action, work hard and watch the dream come into reality!
